jautājums English atbilde English
present tense
sākt mācīties
The present tense is formed by adding an -r to the end of the infinitive, which always ends in a vowel.
e.g. at skrive = to write, jeg skriver = I write
superlative
sākt mācīties
The superlative form is constructed by suffixing -est to most regular adjectives. Those adjectives that use 'mer' in the comparative use 'mest' instead in the superlative.
e.g. rig > rigest (rich > richest), broget > mest broget (varied > most varied)
preterite tense
sākt mācīties
When it comes to regular verbs, the preterite is formed by the suffixation of a dental -de (if the preceding sound is voiced) or -te (if preceding sound is voiceless) to the imperative form.
e.g. læs > læste (read > read), hav > havde (have > had)
adjectives
sākt mācīties
Adjectives are conjugated according to gender and number.
e.g. varm = hot (common), varmt = neuter, varma = plural.
